Attorney Esteban Contreras was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He attended an all boys high school and then moved onto Texas Tech University where he graduated with a degree in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. He then took a year break and worked for an immigration lawyer, doing family-based immigration. He then attended Arizona Summit Law School in Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated in two years.
He then returned to Texas and started working at the District Attorney’s office in El Paso. After about a year and a half, he moved into private practice working for a small law firm in El Paso where his primary focus was civil (personal injury), criminal, immigration, and some family law. After about three years, Esteban moved to Austin to focus solely on personal injury law helping victims injured or killed by the negligence of others. He is licensed to practice law in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado.
On a personal note, Esteban works out early in the morning and is a runner. He enjoys watching soccer and Formula 1 racing on the weekends. His parents are Hispanic – his dad was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, while his mom was born in El Paso, but she was raised in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Esteban speaks Spanish fluently.
